WLT
Development & Grants Manager Janaé Reneaud accepts
a check for $5,229 from Whole Foods Market.
Fall 2003: Washtenaw Land
Trust supporters who shopped at the new Whole Foods Market
on Washtenaw Avenue at Huron Parkway in Ann Arbor helped raise
$5,229 toward an important farmland preservation initiative.
WLT was the beneficiary of the supermarkets Community
Support Day on October 15. Through the grant program, Whole
Foods graciously donated 5 percent of the day's proceeds to
WLT to support a conservation easement purchase program on
South Fletcher Road in Lima Township. The prime organic farmland
is utilized by the Community Farm of Ann Arbor. Whole
Foods has given this important project a big boost,
said WLT Executive Director William Hanson. We really
appreciate their support, and we look forward to finding ways
to partner with Whole Foods again.
